Privacy at StatikAPI
StatikAPI is an open-source project and an upcoming hosted service built by a solo developer. I keep data collection small and transparent so you can focus on shipping.
What this covers
This policy applies to the StatikAPI website and any hosted features (“StatikAPI Cloud,” coming soon, join waitlist). The open-source CLI and libraries run locally and do not send data to me.
Information I collect
- Account basics (hosted): email, name (optional), and authentication details if you sign up for hosted features.
- Operational logs (hosted): lightweight usage metrics (e.g., build counts, endpoint hits in aggregate) to run the service and prevent abuse.
- Product emails (optional): if you join the waitlist or subscribe, I’ll store your email to send updates. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- Payments (hosted, when available): handled by a third-party processor; I don’t store card numbers.
How it’s used
- Provide hosted features, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse.
- Send product updates you asked for (waitlist/newsletter).
- Improve the service using anonymized or aggregated metrics.
What I don’t do
- Sell your personal data.
- Track you across other sites.
- Collect more than is needed to run the product.
Cookies & analytics
The site may use first-party cookies (e.g., session) and a lightweight privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand basic usage. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
Data sharing
- Service providers: I use trusted providers for hosting, email, and payments. They only get what’s required to perform their services and must protect it.
- Legal: Information may be disclosed if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of the service.
Your choices
- Access, update, or delete your hosted account data by contacting [email protected].
- Unsubscribe from emails via the link in any message.
- Use the OSS CLI locally with no account.
Data retention
I keep data only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. If you delete your account, I will remove or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is legally required.
International use
Hosting locations may change over time. If data is transferred across regions, I aim to use providers with strong security practices and appropriate contractual safeguards.
Policy changes
I’ll update this page when the policy changes. Material changes will be clearly noted. Your continued use of the site or hosted features means you accept the updated policy.
